Banking Leaders of Tomorrow

Banking Leaders of Tomorrow is an exclusive program track within Bloch Launchpad that offers students who intend to pursue an interest in banking and financial services the opportunity to partner with leading banks in Kansas City. Students selected to participate in the program will receive a scholarship as well as customized training and hands-on experiential learning to equip them with the essential skills and leadership qualities required to excel in any professional role.

Meet the Director of Banking Leaders of Tomorrow

Dr. Jocelyn Evans is personally committed to supporting students on their path to success through the Banking Leaders of Tomorrow program. She has worked as a commercial loan officer for Bank of America and taught banking at numerous universities around the country. She is continually evolving and enhancing her banking curriculum through faculty and professional experiences that tie theory to real-world application.

Program Details

Missouri or Kansas Resident
First-Time College Student (Transfer Students NOT Eligible)
3.0 or above high school core G.P.A.
First-Generation and/or from low-income community in Kansas City Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA)
Admitted to Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
- Must intend to pursue the Banking and Financial Services Interest Area
Must intend to pursue selection to Bloch Launchpad

Freshman - $2,500 ($1,000 Banking Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship + $1,500 Launchpad Scholarship)

0 – 30 credit hours of BBA Program
Minimum 3.0 G.P.A.
Completion of First-Semester Experience Course
Completion of Math 110 – Precalculus Algebra
Appropriate participation in banking mentorship activities/meetings
Appropriate Banking Leaders of Tomorrow/Bloch Launchpad participation progress

Sophomore - $2,500 ($1,500 Banking Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship + $1,000 Launchpad Scholarship)

30 – 60 credit hours of BBA Program
Minimum 3.0 G.P.A.
Completion of ACCTNG 210, ACCTNG 211, ECON 201, ECON 202
Appropriate participation in banking mentorship activities/meetings
Appropriate Banking Leaders of Tomorrow/Bloch Launchpad participation progress

Junior - $2,500 Banking Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship

60 – 90 credit hours of BBA Program
Minimum 3.0 G.P.A.
Completion of FIN 325 + 1 Banking Course (FIN 419, FIN 425, FIN 426, FIN 428)
Appropriate participation in banking mentorship activities/meetings
Appropriate Banking Leaders of Tomorrow/Bloch Launchpad participation progress

Senior - $5,000 Banking Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship

90 – 120 credit ours of BBA Program
Minimum 3.0 G.P.A.
Two Banking Courses Complete (FIN 419, FIN 425, FIN 426, FIN 428)
Appropriate participation in banking mentorship activities/meetings
Appropriate Banking Leaders of Tomorrow/Bloch Launchpad participation progress

Register to attend a Banking Leaders of Tomorrow Meet & Greet (optional, but encouraged)
Apply to UMKC and gain admission to Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.)

Submit your Bloch Launchpad Application
