In the classroom, you will thrive in an environment of flexibility and support. With Bloch’s new 4 + 3 curriculum for the B.B.A., you’ll choose classes specific to your emphasis and complement them with interest area courses. Accounting majors can broaden the deep foundation they’ll receive with elective courses that cover the business sector.

Scholarships and Qualifications

Will you be an incoming freshman/first-time college student?
As a Bloch Launchpad Scholar, first-time college students are eligible to receive one of the following scholarships, based on highest composite ACT score, high school core grade point average, Launchpad application submission and an interview with Bloch Launchpad Selection Committee.

Henry W. Bloch Impact Scholars | $10,000 a year in scholarship funding
(Includes a $5000 Curator’s/Academic Excellence Award and $5000 Bloch Launchpad Scholarship)

  • Resident of Missouri or Kansas
  • An ACT score of 28 or above
  • High school core GPA of 3.75
  • Strong personal statement and interview
  • Renewable each year with a 3.25 GPA, appropriate participation in Launchpad programming and progress toward completing your degree from the Bloch School of Management

Henry W. Bloch Legacy Scholars | $6000 a year in scholarship funding
(Includes a $3500 Chancellor’s Award and a $2500 Launchpad Scholarship)

  • Resident of Missouri or Kansas
  • An ACT score of 25 or above
  • High school core GPA of 3.50
  • Strong personal statement and interview
  • Renewable each year with a 3.0 GPA, appropriate participation in Launchpad programming and progress toward completing your degree from the Bloch School of Management

Henry W. Bloch Capstone Scholars | $4000 a year in scholarship funding
(Includes a $2000 Provost’s Award and a $2000 Launchpad Scholarship)

  • Resident of Missouri or Kansas
  • An ACT score of 22 or above
  • High school core GPA of 3.0
  • Strong personal statement and interview
  • Renewable each year with a 3.0 GPA, appropriate participation in Launchpad programming and progress toward completing your degree from the Bloch School of Management

Will you be an incoming transfer student from another college?
<spanid=”transfer”>As a Bloch Launchpad Scholar, transfer students are eligible to receive one of the following scholarships, based on transfer credit GPA in a minimum of 40 transferrable credit hours, Launchpad application submission, and an interview with Bloch Launchpad Selection Committee.

Henry W. Bloch Achievement Scholars | $6000 in scholarship funding
(Includes a $2000 Chancellor’s Transfer Award and a $4000 Launchpad Scholarship)

  • Resident of Missouri or Kansas
  • 3.75 transfer credit GPA or above
  • Strong personal statement and interview
  • Renewable each year with a 3.25 GPA, appropriate participation in Launchpad programming and progress toward completing your degree from the Bloch School of Management

Henry W. Bloch Influence Scholars | $4500 a year in scholarship funding
(Includes a $2000 Chancellor’s Transfer Award and a $2500 Launchpad Scholarship)

  • Resident of Missouri or Kansas
  • 3.5 transfer credit GPA or above
  • Strong personal statement and interview
  • Renewable each year with 3.0 GPA, appropriate participation in Launchpad programming and progress toward completing your degree from the Bloch School of Management

Henry W. Bloch Leadership Scholars | $3500 a year in scholarship funding
(Includes a $2000 Chancellor’s Transfer Award and a $1500 Launchpad Scholarship)

  • Resident of Missouri or Kansas
  • 3.25 general transfer credit GPA or above
  • Strong personal statement and interview

Renewable each year with a 3.0 GPA, appropriate participation in Launchpad programming and progress toward completing your degree from the Bloch School of Management


Next Steps

  • Attend an upcoming Launchpad Virtual Information Session
  • Apply to UMKC and gain admission to study Business (B.B.A.), or Accounting (B.S.A.) no later than April 1, 2021
  • Complete the Bloch Launchpad Application by April 1, 2021
    • Only appears in checklist for those eligible based on requirements outlined above
  • Submit official high school transcripts and ACT/SAT scores (high school students only)
  • Submit official college transcript(s) (transfer students and/or high school students with dual-credit)

Selection to Bloch Launchpad is competitive, and only available to permanent residents of Missouri or Kansas.  Students attending UMKC on an international student visa are not eligible.  The Bloch School of Management reserves the right to decline selection of any applicant, regardless of qualification. Students selected as Bloch Launchpad Scholars that are also selected to receive other Competitive UMKC Scholarships (i.e. Trustee’s Scholars), or that are part of other special scholarship programs (i.e. KC Scholars, other Bloch Family Scholarships) may have their Bloch Launchpad scholarship amount adjusted to account for the appropriate disbursement of funds as to remain in compliance with donor agreements. To ensure consideration for Bloch Launchpad, all applicants must meet the minimum ACT and/or GPA requirements, and complete all “Next Steps” requirements outlined above by the April 1st deadline.
