If you are not currently enrolled at UMKC but interested in taking Bloch School courses, this page provides information for you as well as information for current UMKC students (not Bloch students) interested in taking Bloch courses.
You may enroll in certain courses at the Bloch School without applying for admission to a degree program. This type of course enrollment does not constitute admission to UMKC or the Bloch School.
Applicants who have the appropriate prerequisite courses may take up to nine (9) credit hours of Bloch courses.
Students who are preparing for the CPA may take undergraduate accounting courses with approval from the department chair and completion of appropriate prerequisite courses.
Executive Education
The Bloch School’s Executive Education Center provides high-level non-degree leadership and development programs for local and global organizations and individuals.
The non-credit CFP (Certificate in Financial Planning) Board Registered Program is also available through Bloch Executive Education.
Entrepreneurship Scholars Program

Individuals with a related master’s degree may enroll in graduate business, accounting or public administration coursework provided they have met the prerequisite requirements for each course. Students must provide evidence of their degree.
Community students may take select graduate public affairs courses as a workshop for a fee (earning no credit). Students seeking to earn credit must provide proof of completion of an undergraduate degree and are limited to six (6) credit hours that must be taken from courses in the following programs:
Visiting/Community Students wishing to take graduate-level accounting courses will work through Bloch Student Services by submitting to them transcripts and/or other appropriate credentials. Only students with a bachelor’s degree are eligible to take graduate-level accounting courses. Upon receipt of credentials, Bloch Student Services will obtain permission to enroll from the Department of Accountancy chair and the appropriate faculty.
With formal approval, Visiting/Community Students may take up to 9 credit hours; however, no more than 6 of these hours may be applied to a degree program should the Visiting/Community Student subsequently decide to pursue a graduate degree.
A visiting student is a student that currently seeks a degree at an institution outside UMKC but wishes to take Bloch School classes.
