Edward A. Smith Leadership Intern Program

Opportunity

  • Full-time, paid internship in a non-profit or government organization. Such as Heart to Heart International, Kanbe’s Markets, Ivanhoe Neighborhood Association, 39th Street Thrift and Harvesters.
  • Significant Stipend: $7,000 for the ten-week period: June 8 - August 14, 2026.
  • One-on-one faculty mentoring with Tom Vansaghi.
  • Leadership Seminar done concurrently, carrying 1-3 elective credit hours. Leadership readings, self-reflection, group discussions, writing, and insights about:
    • Their leadership strengths and development areas; and
    • Effective leadership practices within organizations.

Eligibility

Bloch Students

  • MBA, MSA, MPA, MSF, MERE
  • Junior/senior BBA or BSA
  • Enrolled in a Bloch School degree program in the winter/spring term of 2026, but is graduating December 2026 or beyond.
  • GPA of 3.2 or higher.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  • Interested in, and committed to, personal leadership development.
  • Reliable means of transportation.
  • Able to work a full-time, 40+ hours position from June 8 -August 14. 

Up to five Bloch students may be selected for the program.
