Launchpad Liftoff is your crash course into being a Bloch Launchpad scholar. Liftoff includes opportunities for you to meet our Launchpad staff, learn more about the program, connect with other Launchpad Scholars, and most importantly, to have some fun!

- 10-10:20 a.m. — Welcome with Dean Klaas and Meet the Staff
- 10:20-11 a.m. — LinkedIn “Speed Dating”
- 11 a.m.-12 p.m. — Kansas City Business Leader Panel Discussion
- 12-1 p.m. — Lunch
- 1-2 p.m. — Teambuilding Activity
- 2-3 p.m. — Ice Cream Social with Current Scholars
This year, Liftoff will be held in-person at Bloch Executive Hall on the UMKC Campus. Lunch will be included.
Is Launchpad Liftoff Required?
Bloch Launchpad Liftoff is a required event for all students that have been selected to be a part of Bloch Launchpad for the Summer and Fall 2024 semesters. However, we understand that unavoidable circumstances may result in some Launchpad Scholars being unable to attend on Aug. 2.
If you’re unable to attend Launchpad Liftoff on Aug. 2, please email Whitney Vaughn at and we can provide you with information regarding a Bloch Launchpad Liftoff “make-up” option.
How Do I Register for Launchpad Liftoff?
Registration is simple. Please take a moment to RSVP here using the email address and password you used to apply to UMKC.

Bloch Launchpad Liftoff registration is only open to students who have been selected as Bloch Launchpad Scholars for the 2024-25 academic year.
