Priority deadlines:
We review applications using a holistic approach, which includes GPA, public service experience and other relevant information that supports your potential for success and public service motivation.
All application materials must be submitted by the deadline for your application to be considered for admission that semester.
Please submit these documents along with your application to UMKC.
We will accept up to six credit hours applicable to your program, completed with distinction at an accredited institution. An official transcript must be supplied. All transfer credit is approved by your academic advisor during your first semester.
International applicants requiring a student visa should apply at least one month before the posted deadline.
If you do not have a degree from a U.S. institution, you must demonstrate English proficiency through an approved certifying entity.

Students enrolled in the bachelor's degree program in Urban Studies may pursue early admission to the MPA to complete the master’s degree program in one additional year. The program allows students to use some MPA courses to satisfy Urban Studies program requirements, thereby reducing the number of courses needed to complete both degrees.
