What made you choose to come to college at UMKC?
There are a lot of different reasons as to why I decided to go to UMKC for college. I am an international student, so leaving my home country was the first step of the challenge. I decided to pursue my undergrad at UMKC because of its remarkable Business School, which offers an incredible opportunity for all students to become successful professionals, mainly through their interactive classrooms and capacitated faculty.
What piece of advice would you share with high school students or transfer students that are just beginning their college search process?
I have experienced the college search process and to be honest it really isn’t fun. There are a lot of different factors you need to worry about, but that’s part of the challenge. The one piece of advice I would give to incoming students is to simply give their very best. Looking for a college/university is fundamental to be successful in the long run, so making the right choice will definitely play an important role.
How do you (or do you plan to) find balance between school and your personal life?
Keeping a balance between academics and personal life/hobbies is a fundamental part of being a college student and a professional further down the line. I think the first most important thing to do is to set priorities straight. After this, creating a schedule and attending responsibilities in order of importance is a combination of factors that, if put together, will allow college’s academic excellence to be more manageable.
What is your favorite thing about Kansas City? What parts of Kansas City are you excited to explore?
My favorite part about Kansas City is downtown. I think I’m at that point of my life where I enjoy walking down Main Street after grabbing a bite or drink, rather than going to a party. In general, Kansas City is a great place not only to study, but also have fun with friends, which is a fundamental part of being successful in college according to my experience.
