I chose UMKC because their Business Program aligned perfectly with my ambitions in creating better opportunities for all people as a Financial Advisor. Combined with the room for growth as a professional, the endless connections and resources that the school offers, and the endless financial support that the school invests in their students, it was almost a no-brainer!
What piece of advice would you share with high school students or transfer students that are just beginning their college search process?
My advice for high school students would be to not only find the school that will help you reach your ultimate career goal, but also will support you and your experience attending the college. If you’re going to be at a school for multiple years, you’d want to be able to say that your time at the school was worth it!
How do you (or do you plan to) find balance between school and your personal life?
Setting a routine and schedule for personal life and professional and scholarly life was something that I never knew that I needed before my first semester of college. After experiencing how many new experiences that college has to offer, I plan to further establish a solid schedule and incorporate personal and down time within my personal life.
What is your favorite thing about Kansas City? What parts of Kansas City are you excited to explore?
My favorite thing about Kansas City is the community and the melting pot culture that you can find and experience. I grew up on the Kansas side of Kansas City so experiencing all the highlights of KCMO is part of my ultimate goal while I am attending UMKC!
