The proximity to the city, number of local businesses, and investment in the career center and Bloch School provided opportunity for networking and career progression that was unique to UMKC students.
What piece of advice would you share with high school students or transfer students that are just beginning their college search process?
Start taking advantage of career opportunities early. The more networking, internships, and time spent in the career center the more you will learn about how many possibilities are out there and what you are truly passionate about.
How do you (or do you plan to) find balance between school and your personal life?
Finding that balance has always been tough for me and how I make it work changes every semester. Keeping an organized calendar and putting reminders on my phone is essential for me.
What is your favorite thing about Kansas City? What parts of Kansas City are you excited to explore?
My favorite part about Kansas City is that you are still able to find tight knit communities regardless of it being a major city. My climbing gym and fraternity have been places where I have made some of my closest groups of friends!
