I chose to attend UMKC because it offers strong business programs while allowing me to stay close to home and be part of a supportive community.

One piece of advice I would give to high school or transfer students just beginning their college search is to explore schools that align with both your academic goals and your personal values. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, visit campuses, and connect with current students to get a real feel for each university.
How do you (or do you plan to) find balance between school and your personal life?
Balancing school and personal life can be challenging, but I’ve found that staying organized and setting clear boundaries for study time and self-care has helped me stay on track. I plan to continue improving my time management and making space for activities that bring me joy and peace outside of academics.
What is your favorite thing about Kansas City? What parts of Kansas City are you excited to explore?
My favorite thing about Kansas City is its unique culture and sense of pride, from the food and music to the historic neighborhoods. I'm excited to explore more local businesses, hidden gems, and community events that make this city feel like home.
