Making Sense of Your Programs Impact: Evaluation Learning Cohort

This cohort is full. Note: we will post the dates of the next cohort soon!

Also, because of inclement weather, we will start this cohort on Friday, February 23, 2018.

"Are we making a difference?"

"What impact are we having?"

"Are those we serve better off for our efforts?"

Does your organization ask these questions? Do your funders ask these questions? Does your board? As nonprofits pursue more evidence-based strategies they immediately realize the magnitude and expense of their efforts.

In order to alleviate the burden on nonprofits, the Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership is excited to introduce its inaugural learning cohort on program evaluation. Over the course of six months, participants will design, create and implement an evaluation for one of their programs.

Cohorts will participate in six months of interactive working sessions. Organizations will carry out the work and generate their own evaluation with the assistance of the Midwest Center's evaluation team and senior fellow network. The cost for the series is $1,500 per organization.

Our first learning cohort will begin in February 2018 and run through July 2018. It will consist of 6 half day sessions and a final celebratory event.

February 22 & 23, 2018 (8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.)
Introduction to evaluation. Determine the question you wish to study for your organization's needs. Conduct a literature review of your topic of study.

March 29, 2018 (8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.)
Design your study. Based on knowledge gained in your literature review determine what data you will collect. Determine how you will collect data and design your collection instrument(s) mindful of analysis requirements. Determine who you will collect the data.

June 7 & 8, 2018 (8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.)
After data has been collected, learn how to analyze, interpret and report your findings.

July 11, 2018 (4 p.m. - 6 p.m.)
Understand how to extend your evaluation design to other programs. Share your results. Celebrate.

*Because learning circles rely on the value of participant interaction it is critical for participants to commit to the full schedule.

As part of your registration, an organization has the option to bring a second person to the sessions if they choose. When you go online to register just put down the main contact and we will follow up with you to see if you want to include a second person.
