Realtors Leadership Academy


The UMKC REALTOR® Leadership Academy is designed to address the needs of REALTORS® through three themes which each explore a fundamental piece of core content, Practice Management, Regional Leadership and Industry Context. By analyzing and understanding critical individual and organizational leadership themes within these core subject areas, REALTORS® will gain valuable insights designed to inform individuals as they progress through their real estate careers. Core topics will be explored through instruction and the completion of a group-based capstone project which will be presented in-class at the conclusion of each core theme.

Practice Management Exploring essential leadership and business topics for growing both individual realtors and real estate practices

  • Topics include: Leadership Self Awareness | Developing and Leading Teams | Real Estate Practice Management| Understanding the Commercial Real Estate Market

Regional Leadership Understanding the role of KCRAR in the greater Kansas City region as well as the practices and politics of effectively engaging with government and civic organizations

  • Topics include: Influence and Persuasion | Civic Engagement | The Business of Boards

Industry Context Analyzing KCRAR's role in the national real estate industry and examining the role of advocacy as well as the policies that shape the real estate market

  • Topics include: The Future of Real Estate | Industry Trends | The Roles of Policy and Advocacy
