Meet Our Students

Dylan Works grew up in Iola, Kansas and attended Kansas State University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. Following graduation, Dylan attended Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand on a Rotary International Scholarship, graduating with a Master's Degree in Public Policy. An avid hiker and backpacker, Dylan took advantage of his two years abroad to complete a majority of New Zealand's iconic Great Walks, hike to Everest Base Camp, summit Mt. Kilimanjaro, and complete the Drakensberg Traverse in South Africa, The Inca Trail in Peru, and the 'W' loop in Patagonia, Chile.

Upon returning to the USA in December 2015, Dylan worked first at a small startup art and custom framing business, and this summer as an intern at a startup healthcare services company. His responsibilities at both of these positions were wide ranging in scope, including general accounting, strategic planning, and market growth and development. During this time, he also took courses towards completing a bachelor's degree in economics.

While excited to expand his understanding of business principles and practices through the UMKC Full-Time MBA program, the opportunity to travel internationally once again through the program's Global Immersion capstone is especially appealing. Upon completion of the MBA program, Dylan plans to pursue a career in the KC area in business development or with a startup company.
