Meet Our Alumni
Matt Wopata grew up in Kansas City and graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in Chemical Engineering in 2011. During his time at Mizzou, Matt interned at a number of different manufacturing companies including Mid-Continental Chemical Company, Honeywell, and DuPont Nutrition and Health. After graduating from Mizzou, he spent six months training in Cleveland before being placed as a field service engineer for Rockwell Automation in Dallas, TX. In 2013, Matt left Rockwell to start independently consulting companies with automation and data acquisition needs.
In 2014, Matt moved his consulting company to Kansas City where he and his wife Emily settled down in the Brookside neighborhood. Outside of work, Matt and his wife enjoy spending time with their family, at the lake, at Royals and Mizzou games, and with their dog, Hilda. Post-MBA, Matt joined Elecsys, a leading Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) manufacturer based in Olathe, Kansas, as a product manager of their industrial data gateways product line.
