Meet Our Students
Kent Schmidtberger, a Kansas City native, graduated from Kansas State University in 2013 with a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering and minors in Economics and Leadership Studies. He has gained a wide range of experience through undergraduate internships with Westar Energy, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Frito-Lay. While in the MBA program, the Bloch Career Center helped Kent find contract work with both Harley-Davidson and US Engineering.
Kent's professional career began in food manufacturing at Frito-Lay, where he spent three enthralling years in supply chain with numerous supervisory functions. Upon graduating with an MBA, he accepted a position as Plant Manager with Dot's Pretzels, a new start-up in the competitive snack food arena. Kent is working to build a new facility to begin production in September 2017 and hopes to help the company grow into future markets.
Outside of work, Kent lives an active lifestyle and loves to travel. He enjoys golfing, tennis, and anything that involves water. If there is any sporting event, concert, or festival going on in the Kansas City area, you can feel pretty confident that Kent is going to be there.
