We Have Liftoff

Bloch Launchpad awards students with a renewable scholarship and offers unique professional and leadership development experiences. Launchpad Scholars are guaranteed opportunities to earn income through a required internship or with the Bloch Consulting Lab. Kansas and Missouri residents majoring in business or accounting are encouraged to apply!

Scholarships and Qualifications

First-Time College Students

First-time college students entering from high school who are selected to Bloch Launchpad will receive a $2,500 renewable scholarship as a part of their selection to the program. Students must meet the following criteria in order to be considered for selection.

  • Recieve admission to UMKC’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) or Bachelor of Science in Accounting (BSA).
  • Be a resident of Missouri or Kansas.
  • Have a high school core GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Submit strong responses to the short-essay prompts included on the Bloch Launchpad application.

Transfer Students

To apply for the program, students transferring from another college or university should follow these steps:

  • Receive admission to Bloch’s Business (BBA) or Accounting (BSA) programs.
  • Log into your status page.
  • Click the “Additional Opportunities” tab.
  • Complete the Bloch Launchpad application
  • Submit final official high school and/or college transcripts/test scores

Exclusive Launchpad Tracks

Incoming freshmen can customize their experience through optional, exclusive tracks like More In 4 and Banking Leaders of Tomorrow. These specialized paths offer personalized professional development within specific industries plus scholarships for selected students. Though these tracks are reserved for first-time college students, transfer students can still participate in Launchpad via the "Launchpad only" experience.

Hi, I am Whitney Vaughn, the Launchpad Program Director! I am from Kansas City, Mo., born and raised. Professionally, I come from Park University, where I was the campus director at the downtown KC and Lenexa locations.
