Meet Our Students
Brian Gaffigan Brian Gaffigan grew up in Saint Louis, Missouri and earned his BS degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Missouri, Columbia in 2015. While at the university, he performed research in photoacoustic cancer cell detection, ACL repair using nanoparticle coated transplant tissue, and bioreactor design.
Upon graduation, he moved to Kansas City to work as a Bioprocess Engineer for Ceva Biomune, an animal pharmaceutical company. In this position, he worked as a liaison between research and development (R&D) and manufacturing, transferring new processes to large-scale production. He joined the biotechnology networking organization, BioKansas, to meet and connect with other industry professionals in the area. Brian is interested in acquiring business and management skills to supplement his engineering experience, which led him to pursue the Full-Time MBA program at UMKC.
Outside of work, Brian enjoys fishing, playing racquetball and basketball, and attending concerts with friends. Brian also enjoys volunteering, and has worked with the Bishop Sullivan Center to provide meals for the hungry in Kansas City. He plans to utilize his MBA to enhance future business-related career options.
