Meet Our Students
Spencer Coonrod grew up in the greater metropolitan area of Kansas City. Attending his undergraduate at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, he graduated with two honors degrees: Physics and Mechanical Engineering. While at the University, he held a number of leadership positions, the highlights being: President of the Mechanical Engineering Honors Society (Pi Tau Sigma), Student Government Senator and an Executive Board Member/Treasurer of his Fraternity.
Upon graduation, he went to work for Halliburton as part of their Leadership Development Program. During this time, he enjoyed being out on rigs leading drilling operations. The advanced technologies Halliburton utilizes and the oilfield operation gave Spencer opportunities to showcase both his interpersonal and technical background.
Spencer also worked as an engineer in the power generation industry for Kiewit Power Constructors as an estimator. When Spencer isn't in the boardroom you will most likely find him rock climbing at Cliff Drive east of downtown or cheering on the Royals, of which he is an avid fan.
Spencer is excited to apply his love for learning and technical expertise to the Bloch Full-time Intensive Program. He hopes to gains tools from the program to approach business industries strategically and from different viewpoints. As a lifelong learner he hopes to pursue a career in fields in fast-paced and challenging fields.
