William Dunn, Sr.

JE Dunn

When William Dunn, Sr., returned from serving as a naval aviator in World War II, he never dreamed JE Dunn Construction would become a leader in its industry. Founded in 1924 by his father, John Ernest Dunn, it was only a small, family-run contractor at the time. With a degree in math and physics from Rockhurst University, Dunn originally joined JE Dunn Construction Company to learn more about business. However, he soon became an integral force in the company’s expansion, ultimately leading the company into the new century with unprecedented growth.

Since he began work at JE Dunn Construction Company in 1946, William Dunn, Sr., has been truly impressed with what can be accomplished in this country by hiring the best possible employees, treating them fairly, and using the same golden rule with clients and the public.

Long ago, William Dunn took to heart a lesson his father taught him about satisfying clients and everyone he worked with to build repeat business. Dunn’s commitment to this promise was the foundation of his leadership, which grew his father’s company into one of the nation’s leading providers of construction management services, design-build, and integrated project delivery.
