Mike Brown

Innovative Software and Euronet Worldwide

Mike Brown’s “never give up” attitude and entrepreneurial spirit are the cornerstones of his success. Brown’s entrepreneurial journey began shortly after college when he co-founded Innovative Software in 1979, a firm that created integrated business software primarily for personal computers.

Innovative Software eventually merged with Informix, a leading provider of advanced database software technology. With Brown’s oversight, Informix revenues grew from $70 million to $170 million in just two years.

When he left Informix in 1990, Brown’s innovative energy and interest in supporting his community led him to dedicate the next few years to bringing Science City to Kansas City. Housed in Kansas City’s Union Station, the attraction has helped draw millions of visitors per year to this landmark.

In 1994, Mike Brown’s entrepreneurial spirit kicked in again when he had the idea of making cash more accessible to people around the world. With $4 million, he founded Euronet Worldwide, Inc. Through organic growth, acquisition and much perseverance, Brown built Euronet into a multibillion-dollar global provider of electronic payment and transaction processing solutions for financial institutions, retailers, service providers and individual consumers around the world.
