James Glenn is the Associate Administrator and Business Strategist at Truman Medical Centers Behavioral Health. He joined TMC Behavioral Health in June 2016, after serving as a housing consultant for the previous two years. In his role as housing consultant, James stabilized and increased TMC's funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, ultimately tripling the number of units available to house chronically homeless individuals with mental illness and/or addictions. Prior to TMCBH, James was the founder and former Executive Director of Kim Wilson Housing and the Senior Vice President of Housing and Community Services at the Mental Health Association of the Heartland.
James is also the Founder, Principal, and Lead Consultant of Glenn & Company, LLC, a consulting, coaching, and capacity-building organization that helps to create social enterprise endeavors and synergistic opportunities among businesses and nonprofits. He has used his policy expertise to co-author the research article Policing Persons with Mental Illness, distributed to 300 police chiefs nationwide and is currently writing a book on housing and homelessness.
James earned a bachelor's degree in Business Psychology from Kansas State University and a Master of Administrative Social Work from the University of Kansas, where he served as an adjunct instructor for eight years, teaching community practice, policy, and research to graduate-level social work students.
