I chose UMKC due to its close proximity to my house. I was also granted the opportunity to come to UMKC as a Henry W. Bloch Scholar. This award covers my tuition until I have successfully completed my undergraduate degree.
What piece of advice would you share with high school students or transfer students that are just beginning their college search process?
A piece of advice that I would share with incoming or transfer students is to take advantage of the outstanding academic assistance resources UMKC offers. UMKC has a robust academic support network in supplemental instruction and tutoring. The writing studio has been my personal favorite resource, the staff there has helped me on a number of different essay and research papers.
How do you (or do you plan to) find balance between school and your personal life?
What I would do first is map out my calendar by scheduling my classes in ways that would work best for me. Everything outside of class time should be planned accordingly not to conflict with class times.
What is your favorite thing about Kansas City? What parts of Kansas City are you excited to explore?
One favorite things about Kansas City are its parks. I’ll often go to parks to visit with friends and play sand volleyball.
