Information for Employers

Regnier Career Accelerator

This annual February event offers organizations an opportunity to interact with their next new interns or full-time hires. Employers engage UMKC's entrepreneurial students in small group conversations about the firm's culture and career opportunities. Morning connection sessions showcase employers with more than 500 employees while the afternoon sessions focus on the smaller or start-up organizations. The day's activities also include an employer panel discussion with a student audience, lunch, a workshop for employers, a brief student - employer social session, and opportunities for employers to briefly screen candidates one-on-one. For more information and to register for this event, visit Regnier Career Accelerator. This event is co-sponsored by the Regnier Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation and the Bloch Career Network.

Designing Internships

Eager to engage Bloch School students as interns? Bloch Career Network offers guidance in establishing the essential partnership to engage Bloch School interns in workplace experiences that benefit organizations and students.

Open Positions

Post your open positions on UMKC's digital job board, Roo Career Network. When you access Roo Career Network, click "Employers." Just follow the instructions; it's quite easy. In the future, you may access this system to add postings any time you like...and there is no fee!

Join us for BlochConnect on Fridays in October and March by scheduling campus interviews with Bloch School students through UMKC Career Services.

Bloch PowerPorts

BLOCH POWERPORTS is a pre-recruiting networking opportunity in September. Employers engage with students and alumni seeking employment opportunities. POWERPORTS offers a number of employer-led career-oriented activities that "power up" the job and internship search process:

  • Mini-seminars - A member of your organization leads one of five thirty-minute seminars offering insight and guidance to students and alumni on common job and internship search issues.
  • Employer Roundtables - One or two of your organization's members engage a small group of interested students and alumni in a semi-formal discussion . . . . at a round table. You might offer information about employment or internship opportunities within your organization, and share insights to your organization's culture, pace, and management practices. NOW included! MEET THE FIRMS for public accounting!
  • Industry coaching - Represent one of the following disciplines - marketing, finance/financial services, public administration/ nonprofit, accounting, real estate, or operations/business analytics - and informally coach students seeking various career options in that discipline.
  • Industry Networking - Connect with students and alumni in an unscheduled, informal setting while enjoying a picnic style buffet, snacks, or beverages.
