Community Members

Community members may enroll in certain courses at the Bloch School without applying for admission to a degree program. This type of course enrollment does not constitute admission to UMKC or the Bloch School.

Undergraduate:

  • Community students who have the appropriate prerequisite courses may take up to nine (9) credit hours of Bloch courses.
  • Students who are preparing for the CPA may take undergraduate accounting courses with approval from the department chair and completion of appropriate prerequisite courses. Students are limited to a total of nine (9) hours of Bloch courses.

Graduate:

  • Individuals with a related master’s degree may enroll in graduate business, accounting, or public administration coursework provided they have met the prerequisite requirements for each course. Students must provide evidence of their degree.
  • Community students (with an undergraduate degree) may take graduate PA courses as a workshop for a fee (earning no credit). They are limited to six (6) credit hours that must be taken from courses in the following certificate programs:

Get Started:

  1. Begin by filling out a visiting student application through UMKC Admissions.
  2. The student must provide proof that he/she meets all prerequisites for the course and/or completed a related master's degree, usually by submitting a transcript. This can be emailed directly to the Bloch School.
  3. Once the student receives approval to take the course, the student is responsible for enrolling in and paying for the course online through Pathway, UMKC's records & registration system, or in person at the UMKC Registrar's Office.
