UMKC - The Bloch School

Master of Science in Accounting (MSA)

Successful Bloch School graduate accounting students can be confident that their studies will lead to a rewarding career. Well-trained accountants have always been an asset to any business or enterprise, and with recent legislation such as Sarbanes-Oxley, accountants are even more in demand today. Bloch faculty have extensive experience in both public and private accounting. Each faculty member has earned a Ph.D. and is engaged in active research in his or her chosen field. They have been recognized with numerous awards for excellence in teaching.

Our MSA program offers options for students both with and without undergraduate accounting backgrounds, and all of our MSA courses are offered at night to accommodate the schedules of full-time professionals.

Upon completion of our MSA degree, you will be eligible to sit for the Uniform Certified Public Accounting (CPA) examination anywhere in the United States. You should be aware that states now provide for admission to the examination during the final semester of a student’s degree program, and plan your coursework accordingly.
