AdmissionsThe Bloch Executive MBA is designed for experienced professionals on an executive career path, with a passion for advancement. Admission decisions are informed by the program's admission philosophy and criteria. Bloch Executive MBA Admissions Philosophy We seek to create a balanced cohort of students who are diverse in their experience and talents. Not everyone has the same profile, but all need to bring (a) relevant experiences and strengths, and (b) demonstrated capacity to meet the academic requirements of the program. We partner with established area organizations to support their leadership development. However, we also seek an optimal learning mix for the cohort. The involvement of high potential individual contributors, entrepreneurs, and representatives from different professions and sectors is very important. We take as holistic look at each candidate and use the ideal EMBA candidate as a starting point, not a checklist of absolutes. If a candidate falls short in one area, we look at how well that is balanced by other significant strengths, how a weak academic record can be put into perspective by current accomplishments, and so on. We want the admissions process to be open and developmental, and we will alert candidates how best to prepare for program admission and success. We have found that EMBA students who have struggled, were behind their peers in certain areas (e.g., writing, quantitative skills, analytic ability, etc.), didn't realize it, and were shocked by certain courses or assignments. A heads-up makes for an informed decision - and an opportunity for a personal remedial plan and additional support. Bloch Executive MBA Admissions Criteria and ProcessThe ideal Bloch Executive MBA candidate has:

Find out more about application information and forms. Does a weak past academic record preclude admission? No. Our experiences confirm the research: past academic success is not a strong predictor of career or EMBA program success. Successful Bloch Executive MBA students all share three qualities: openness to learning, hunger to develop as professionals, and willingness to work hard. We are an educational program, committed to student development. We are a partner with area organizations to develop individuals as important to their organization's future. We are a public university, committed to preparing a productive workforce and to supporting economic growth for the state and region. Therefore, we admit smart, hardworking, high-potential candidates, as well as the proven winners. |
