Dr. Sidne Ward - Research Activities and Interests

My current research interests include browser and other information systems user interfaces. Specifically, I am interested in how inconsistencies in web browser-based applications affect usability. I have also conducted field studies of eBay examining the consequences of bidder experience on bidding behavior and performance, the differences between bidder behavior in live versus online auctions, and the effects of partitioned pricing of shipping and other ancillary charges on total revenue realized.

Current projects include an exploration of student usage of ancillary online course materials and impacts on student performance. I am also continuing the research stream on browser-based application interfaces (with Dr. Mark S. Silver).

In addition, I have interests in the areas of information systems and the developing world and impacts of information technology on organizations and society including globalization.

A list of my publications is available on my vita.
