Gene Brown holds the Valentine Radford/Missouri Professorship of Marketing at the Henry W. Bloch School of Management at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Brown received a Ph.D. from The University of Alabama with a major in marketing and minors in statistics and quantitative methods.
Brown’s current research interests include customer relationship management, internet marketing, sales management and the market orientation of organizations. Brown regularly conducts research and consulting for both profit and nonprofit organizations of all sizes.
Brown has published more than 70 articles in the Journal of the Academy of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Business Research, the Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management, the Journal of Business Ethics, the Journal of Advertising and others. Brown is a frequent speaker at various marketing conferences. He has served as a visiting professor at the University of Melbourne, Australia.
