Walt Clements Elected to CCIM Board

Kansas City, Mo./Chicago, Ill. (October, 2008) – Walt Clements, CCIM, director of the Lewis White Real Estate Center at the UMKC Bloch School of Business and Public Administration, was recently elected to the Board of Directors of CCIM Institute, the governing body of the largest commercial real estate network in the world, at an election held Oct. 16 in Chicago.
Those elected to the Board of Directors are responsible for voting on policy, procedural and financial issues pertaining to CCIM Institute, its membership and education programs.
Clements was one of three Certified Commercial Investment Members (CCIMs) elected to the Board, which is comprised of 48 elected directors, appointed officers and past Institute presidents. He will serve a three-year term starting in January of 2009.
At the Lewis White Real Estate Center, Clements recruits students and real estate professionals to Bloch’s real estate course offerings and will oversee efforts to grow the program. He continues to work toward engaging real estate professionals as speakers and champions for the program.

Clements brings an extensive knowledge of both local and international real estate to Bloch as past-president and past-part owner of Overland Park-based Greenleaf Properties, Inc., and president and owner of consulting company CARET, Ltd. He has traveled internationally, teaching for the University of International Business and Economics of Beijing, China, The Polish Federation of Realtors in Warsaw, Poland and the Russian Guild of Realtors in Moscow, Russia.
CCIM Institute is an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors® and is the governing body of the largest commercial real estate broker network in the world.
