Bloch's KCSourceLink Sparks Model for VetLink

Release Date: Jan 10, 2008

Projects in the FY08 the Omnibus spending bill, signed by the President on December 21, 2007, include an appropriation for VetLink.

A pilot project for the Kansas City area, VetLink will identify and organize community resources for veterans into an easy-to-use database to simplify the process of linking veterans to the resources they need. These include health care, business development and many other services.

The project will be powered by the SourceLink model and administered by the UMKC Bloch School through KCSourceLink.

The VetLink funding request was originated by Congressman Emanuel Cleaver II (Fifth District-Missouri) and Congressman Dennis Moore (Third District-Kansas) to improve the coordination of services for veterans in the Kansas City Metro.
